How Can Swelling Around An Absessed Teeth Be Treated?

I have an absesed tooth, or infection below tooth, Itaking 500 amoxicillion, I hace acticlate 100 mg a day, can both be taken to help this cause the amoxicillion doesnt seem to be getting rid of all of this and below the tooth is swollen, also noticed in the swollen area almost looks like a pimple, is that the infection trying to break thru the gum, also have been rinsing with salt water, does that help as well extract the infection or draw it out. Thanks Michael

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain in case if you have an abscessed tooth that occurs due to pus formation below the root tips of the tooth and cause severe pain due to nerve compression and pressure caused by the pus..

If the pus is breaking through the gum then it will draining the infection out but will still need treatment of tooth for permanent resolution..

Taking antibiotic alone is not sufficient and you need to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigation like x ray can be done..

In case if tooth can be saved Root Canal Treatment followed by antibiotics and painkillers can help..
In case if there is gross decay Extraction can be advised..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
