How Can Swelling In The Ankles And Knees Be Treated?

I was prescribed Diclofenac Sodium Topical gel 1% for my injured knee & swollen ankles. I noticed it said in the informational sheet that you shouldn t take if you take NSAIDs. I take a tab of 81 mg aspirin, Hydrocodone 5/325 mg (2 daily if needed for pain) and was told to take 2 300 mg Ibuprofen. Am confused, is this ok?

Hi,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.

I had gone through your question I can understand your concern drug interactions.

Because you are taking pain killers like asprin and ibuprofen, they both are anti inflammatory drugs and does the same effect as that of DICLOFENAC gel.

There is no problem in its use it will not harm you, because the systemic ones are with more efficacy, so it is written on the indication sheet.

If you feel pain and there is any inflammation you can use it, mostly it there is no bruises present on the skin where you feel pain is. You can apply it and it will not cause you any damage.

Hope my answer will help you and visit us back if you have any further queries.
