How Can Swelling In The Head Due To An Injury Be Treated?

Hi I banged my head against the hatch door of my van about two weeks ago and I have a swelling in that area, it s not black/blue or bruised, just swollen. I suppose that it s just the trauma, but how long is it normal to last? It s not painful unless I press it.
