Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a kidney transplant Dec. 11 and it did not kick in, it was on ice for 18 hrs. I think they are infiltrating it when they keep sticking me in the same place, as I get black and blue also it is swelled at least 3 times the side of my right arm, my hand is swollen too and I keep sleeping with warm heating pad on it at night propped up on a pillow. Have had two ultra sounds of the arm, and in the neck and under my arm, they say there is fluid in there but not sure what kind, have had a graft-o-gram in Oct now they are saying I need another one and am trying to get one as soon as possible. I do have black and blue marks on my arm and have asked them to stick me some place different , now it doesn t bleed as much at the end? Help?
Swelling may be due to fluid accumulation, vein thrombosis or local infection. Fluid accumulation may be due to renal dysfunction. You need to examine kidney function.
Please consult your nephrologist, he will examine and treat you accordingly.
