How Can Swelling On The Arm Due To A Bee Sting Be Treated?

On phone with advice nurse about bee sting my husband got yesterday. He didn t put baking soda on it to draw out poison and now hand is swollen. Redness around wrist going up toward elbow. Swelling in mid arm under the red streak (red streak about 1 to 1 1/2 in. Wide about 3fingers from elbow). Elevated hand and arm and alternating warm and cold. ER dr checking back in an hr or do to see if it s changed. Do you have any idea what else to do. I do not have any antihistamine.

Hello,

Kindly get IV antibiotics. Maybe, while draining there may be the introduction of infection and is spreading.

I do not know what your description says, but it is quite big if I could be able to see the photo or something. Anti-inflammatory medications, antibiotics, painkillers all are required. Kindly go to ER (Emergency room) for the treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana
