How Can Swelling, Redness, Irritation And Lump In Tonsils With Fever And Nausea Be Treated?

My tonsils are extremely swollen and on my left side there is a very red, very irritated mass/lump in/on the front of my tonsil. It is very difficult and painful to swallow. Both strep and Mono tests were negative. I was on antibiotics for five days which seemed to help, but once I was done with the 5 day cycle, it came back and is worse than it was previously. It's been a week since it all started. Before antibiotics I had a fever and was very tired and dizzy/lightheaded and a bit nauseous. What do I do? Do I need to go to an Urgent Care?

Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

Your query regarding your tonsils is clearly indicating that you are most likely suffring from acute follicular onsillitis. This is an painful disease of tonsils giving severe pain in throat and thus swallowing becomes difficult.

Though you are already taking treatment from your doctor but with due consent of your doctor you may add these-

1- Tab Paracetamol.

2- Antacd with PPI.

3- Warm saline gargling.

Probably above will solve your problem.

Regards.
