How Can Swollen Ingrown Toe Nail Be Treated?

Hello there, I had an accident with my toenail a year ago which cut it vertically into half and blood bled badly. I have not consulted it in a doctor but instead decided to cure it by myself by herbal medicine and it worked in just a week. After 8 months my toenail had grown fully that I started to trim it little but it seems that I have not cut it correctly that cause my ingrown. It s been three 3 months and the swelling of my toenail is getting worsen, what should I do now? Is there any cream for ingrown?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It has to be removed as it will cause infection and subsequent pus formation.

Consult a general surgeon and get evaluated. Nothing much to worry as it will settle with antibiotics.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
