How Can Tenderness And Pain On The Wrist Bone Due To An Injury Be Treated?

My son is a football player and hit his right forearm on another players helmet right above the pinky side wrist bone. He complains of tenderness and pain. We have been following the RICE protocol with IBU for pain. He has range of motion of wrist, but this causes a lot of pain. My question is, at what point would you be considered, and is there an additional treatment we should be doing? Thank you

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Wrist bone injury needs time to heal. RICE protocol is best suitable for better and early outcome.

Tablet Ibuprofen is best but I would suggest tablet diclofenac plus tablet Tramadol will help you much faster in pain relieving and swelling.

So try those tablet. Start playing after enough rest because muscle strain may occur. So first let it repair.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
