Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been experiencing tendinitis in my elbow for almost three months now. I have been a bowler for 49 of my 58 years. The issue with the pain just showed up one day (no warning) and has been with me (in varying degrees) ever since. I am a competition tournament bowler and this pain is detrimental to what I do. I have been doing some tendon stretching exercises for the last week and half and it has helped some but the symptoms never completely went away. I have been contemplating making an appointment to see an orthopedic doctor. Your recommendations? Also, I have been having an on again/ off again burning sensation in my left foot and I don t know what it is or where it came from. It has been difficult to walk at times but as I walk the pain eventually diminishes and the goes away. It showed up about the same time as the tendinitis.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Tendonitis in elbow seems to be due to overuse/stress to elbow. It needs rest to them part, ice /hot pack /mild massage with muscle relaxant ointment/over them counter anti inflammatory drugs. Your thought of Consultation of orthopedic surgeon is correct. It would help for advise of specific drug & braces for elbows to relieve pain gradually.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
