Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am having testicular lump since 1 year.mantoux test is positive and ESR count is normal.please help me..I am in a confused stage. Is this is transmittable to anyone and also to wife.Is this s curable.what can I do?What is the treatment for thi/Is this is testicular Tb or not
Hello Thanks for your query. Positive Mantoux test does not tell that you have a testicular TB. For that you need to have orchidectomy and histopathological examination to confirm the diagnosis of TB or to establish other diagnosis and biopsy sample should be sent for histopathological examination as well as mycobacterial culture. Even if it is testicular TB there is no chance of spread of infection to your close associates because isolated testicular TB is not infectious unless it is accompanied by pulmonary TB. You also have to go for a chest X-ray and sputum examination for TB. Thank you. Regards Dr Arnab Maji
