Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi doctor. My baby is 16 months . I am nursing him till now. His solid intake is way too less. I inject liquids like banana shake, pomegranate juice or lentils etc . He is used to having liquids with injection rather than spoons. Doctor recommended oraxin and rantac syrup for my son. Dosage is 2ml twice a day. Is it ok to go with medicines. He is not a food lover. I struggle to make him eat. He plays with water or I have to give him something new for every bite to make him eat. He does not eat happily. He does not take bottle milk at all. He drinks plain water using glass, spoons, bowl but not milk or anything else. He will not take more than 2-3 bites of solid, say chappati or rice. His weight is 9.6 kgs. Kindly advise how can I improve his eating habit so that he swallows properly and not gag and He starts milk in a glass. Thank you.
You can give soft and palatable feeds that child like to eat.
You can try deworming as worm infestation can cause appetite loss in kids. You can consult your pediatrician and try Cyprohepatidine drops also.
Hope I have answered your query.
