My son who is 7 years old has very tiny boils over his face. Its localized only over the face and not on any other region. It becomes more when he goes to school as well as during night time. When i asked him if it itches he told that sometimes it would but not always. As mentioned earlier they are very tiny boils, not painful. Its been 6 weeks and he is having it without any signs of clearance. Could you pls advice.would be extremely grateful to you.
6 weeks for a bacterial infection to stay as it is, is rather a rare thing to happen. Since you told that the lesions are neither itchy nor painful, that leads me to think more in favor of Molluscum contagiosum(caused by a virus), which are tiny pearly white bumps which spread slowly to form new lesions and individual lesions stay as it is OR increase ever so slightly in size over weeks or months.
I would suggest that you visit a nearby dermatologist for a confirmatory diagnosis. Molluscum is quite common in childhood and specially in those who are atopic/dry skin.
Treatment of molluscum is simple and most of them can either be easily extracted with a very fine needle(if a child allows!!)
regards
