Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Can The Burning Sensation Caused By A Bartholin Gland Cyst Be Treated?
I have a bartholin gland cyst and am on antiobotics and have been using sitz baths. It has started having burning sensation, but it is reducing in size. Is it ok to use something like a steroid dream to help with the burning or will that clog the cyst again?
It is an inflammatory pain. As the swelling is decreasing in size, no intervention is required and only follow up will be enough. Topical antibiotics like mupirocin can be tried for symptomatic relief.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
