Hi

Azithromycin is an antibiotic that is generally taken once a day. It does not seem usual doses the ones you are mentioning. Most common side effects of Azithromycin is stomach irritability and nausea and in elderly people it can cause heart problems. Please confirm with your doctor that the drug she is using and the dose is the correct one.
