How Can The Values Of Neutrophils, Lymphocytes, Eosinophil And Monocytes In A Biopsy Report Of An Infant Be Interpreted?
My daughter, 7 months, had a bone marrow biopsy done about 3 weeks ago and it is taking so long to get an answer but I got the initial information and am wondering if anything looks like reason for concern. MICROSCOPIC DESCRIPTION Peripheral Blood: No current CBC data available for review. |----------------------------------------------------------| |Cell |% of Total Cells | |NEUTROPHILS |5 | |LYMPHOCYTES |92 | |MONOCYTES |2 | |EOSINOPHILS |0 | |BASOPHILS |1 | |METAMYELOCYTES |0 | |MYELOCYTES |0 | |PROMYELOCYTES |0 | |BLASTS |0 | |OTHER CELLS |0 | |NRBC |0 | |Total Cells: 100 | |----------------------------------------------------------| Bone Marrow Aspirate/Touch Imprint/Biopsy: Aspirate quality: Cellular. Biopsy quality: Suboptimal due to small size and subcortical localization. Erythroid precursors: Normal morphology. Myeloid precursors: Normal morphology. Blasts not increased. Megakaryocytes: Normal morphology. Lymphocytes: Relatively increased in the aspirate, including increased hematogones.
The bone marrow report is within normal limits. No abnormality is detected on bone marrow biopsy. The complete blood count is still pending. You may post the CBC report once you get it.
