How Can The Wet Pressure Dressing Be Retained Till Morning?
..I am battlingTriple Negative Breast Cancer. I have a power port in my right upper chest. Today I had my last chemo therapy treatment (# 1). On the way home I noticed a very large blood stain on my shirt. I called the Oncology nurse on call. She told me to go to the nearest ER. I went to the ER in my town. Was basically told that there was nothing they could do or me there. They applied a pressure dressing and told me not to remove util morning, if still bleeding I am to go to the oncologist. Its been 1.5 -2hrs since I left ER. Right now the pressure dressing is literally soakend in blood. Whats going on? what would possibly cause his to happen? They flued the port before and after treatment. with 2 syringes saline and 1 syringe of Heparin. Thank you so very much for your time., Tonia D. Morrison
As you explain the situation you don't need an oncologist neither. You should return to the we and they should call an surgeon who will see the port and will give you the first aid.I wish a fast recovery for you.
