How Can This Undescended Testicle Be Saved?

hello, i was looking for some advice concerning my 1 year old baby, he had an inguinal hernia and a right undescended testicle. the hernia has been removed and they tried to stitch down the testicle into place but it ripped open his sac and sprung back up, im worried hes going to loose it as the doctor says it looks bleak, can you give me any advice on this situation please

Since it is on one side only, we need not worry about sterility- one testes is enough for fertility. Whether it can be re-positioned again or not, your surgeon will be able to explain better. In some cases, a staged re positioning is needed if cord is too short. Kindly discuss with him.
