How Can Throat Cancer Be Diagnosed And What Are The Treatment Options?
my son in law has been doctoring for several months for throat problems. he has had ear trouble also. He started going to an ear nose and throat specialist. 2 months ago the dr put a camera down his throat and said nothing showed up and he has a chronic sinus infection. he still did not feel well and returned last week. this time the dr put a camera down his throat and immediately told him he has throat cancer and wants to do surgery this friday. I am concerned about his lack of diagnosing this sooner and wonder if he should get a second opinion?
Hello dear, On going through your history, it seems you son-in-law have a genuine situation and I'll try my best to help you out of it.
Cancer in throat can arise in some weeks as the cancer cells grow exponentially. It is quite possible that in the 1st instance his throat was normal, and after 2 months the mass which was not visible to eye might has grown bigger.
But do not panic. I would suggest you to take a second opinion for his issue and decide the management of the condition. But if it is positive from the second opinion do not loose time for the management.
I hope I brought some relief to your anxiety. Please be free to ask me any further doubt regarding this situation.
Thank you for the way you are in my life.
