Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi have been suffering with throat infection and fever for past two days. Went visited physician was put on antibiotics rite-o-cef for 10 days and ancer for 10 days. But am also getting cold.Earlier had minor cough. Please suggest what medicine can I take . Cam montek lC is recommended.
The medicines prescribed by your doctor is fine. Ancer is given for a cough and cold. You can either take Montek-LC or Ancer, not both. Both medications are antihistamines and if taken together will cause severe drowsiness.
Take a course of probiotics like Vizylac (Lactobacilli) to protect against the side effects of the antibiotics.
Drink warm fluids at regular intervals. Warm saline gargles will also help.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Divya Kuttikrishnan,
General & Family Physician
