How Can Throat Pain Due To Swallowing Glass Piece Be Treated?

So I went to the emergency earlier because I had noticed I had swallowed a little piece of broken glass from the cup I was using to drink, they did an X-ray and said they couldn t see any glass in my throat but my throats was a little swollen. Now my throat is hurting and it feels like something is really stuck, should I continue to just drink water and wait and hope it gets better or should I go see the doctor again ?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It's needful to get a detailed examination of the throat to know about the severity of injury followed by needful specific treatment. Removal of glass particles by washes, stitches if needed/cleaning of the oral cavity by warm water gargles, Inj. TT, antibiotic & anti-inflammatory drugs as per need.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
