How Can Throat Pain With Dysphagia Caused By Trauma Be Treated?
I was trying to break up a fight and the person grabbed my throat and squeezed it for about 10 seconds. There was no bruising or swelling, but the right side of my throat hurts when I swallow. It s been 2 weeks and still hurts to swallow on the one side only. Can there be internal damage and how do I treat this?
HI. This is called throttling and there may not be an obvious injury on the outside. I would advise you to take an opinion of an ENT and undergo endoscopy to see for the hematoma or selling in the inside. MRI may show up any injury or swelling in the muscles of the neck. Take an appropriate anti-inflammatory medicines to reduce the edema and pain. This causes the pain on swallowing. Have a regular follow-up. Take liquid diet till you recovery.
