How Can Thyroid Disorder Be Treated While Suffering From ADHD?
My son is 20 yrs of age and currently incarcerated he told me that the nurse said he has thyroid problems and his bottom number of his blood pressure is low. He is also bipolar, ADD, ADHD and ODD diagnosed when he was about 8. I have been looking online trying to research Thyroids but everything is pointing in the direction of women. How and What can I do to Help him, or could it be his medications doing this . Signed, Concerned and Stressed Single Parent
The lower range of blood pressure is 90/60 mmHG. Some persons have readings that may be slightly lower than this but they do not have any symptoms of the low blood pressure.
One number is not more important than the next, both readings need to be evaluated. If he is having symptoms of low blood pressure such as dizziness, shortness of breath, chest pain, clammy feeling, weakness then he should try to raise it if possible.
This can be done by increased fluids and salt intake.
The thyroid hormone levels can be too low or too high. This can only be diagnosed by a blood test. Treatment of too low or too high readings is very different, so this needs to be clarified as well.
I hope this helps
