How Can Tingling And Burning Sensation On The Legs Be Treated?
I had total knee replacement in May I was put on gabapention while in recovery because of the tingling sensations in my leg. I ran out of the meds and now my whole leg ankles and feet are tingling and burning. I will ask my doc about a new script. Do you feel the benefits outweigh the problems associated with side effects of this drug?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Well, these are signs of certain neuropathic issues and this is most commonly seen in some metabolic disorders such as diabetes,of the most common causes of peripheral neuropathy, accounting for about 30% of cases. In diabetic neuropathy, tingling and other symptoms often first develop in both feet and go up the legs, followed by tingling and other symptoms that affect both hands and go up the arms.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
