How Can Tinnitus And Pressure In The Ears Be Treated?
Hello I had an incident where my head had a whiplash after jumping off a fence . Nothing hurt from it until the next day sever throwing up and sever vertigo , head pressure and loss of hearing and tinnitus. Has a drunk feeling for 5 weeks , now im going to a chiropractor and neck feels better but my head and ears do not and still a little off balance and cant stand loud noises . What else can be done ENT DR did nothing for me MRI of head is ok , ex ray from chiro. sees C2 getting adjustments still cant hear and pressure in head mild to moderate daily with tinnitus and ear pressure too.
Tinnitus is not a disease in itself but it is a symptom that indicates that there is some underlying illness. I would suggest you consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like audiometry, X-ray and MRI can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly.
In case if ringing does not resolve then you can be advised medicines like Tricyclic anti-depressant like Amitryptiline, anti-anxiety medication like Alprazolam, as well as multivitamin supplements can be advised.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ivan R. Rommstein,
