How Can Tinnitus And Vertigo Be Treated?

I have been diagnosed with tinnitus and vertigo. I had a triple bypass 9 months ago. I am 55 years old. I have a stressful job as a principal of apk3 through 12th grade private school. The last week I have been getting a fluid sensation in my ears and when I take a step or move my head I get a pulsing sensation in my ears

Hi,

Tinnitus is a common issue and most causes are benign and temporary. However, this lasts for a longer period then it should be evaluated.

Tinnitus can occur due to causes like chronic ear infection, perforated eardrum, Eustachian tube dysfunction, Meniere's disease, TMJ disorders, Acoustic Neuroma, etc.

Tinnitus is not a disease in itself but it is a symptom that indicates that there is some underlying illness.

I would suggest you consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like Audiometry, X-Ray MRI can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly.

In case if ringing does not resolve then you can be advised medicines like Tricyclic Anti-depressant like Amitryptiline, anti-anxiety medication like Alprazolam, as well as Multivitamin supplements can be advised.
