How Can Tonsillitis And Ear Infection Be Prevented?

I've had tonsillitis and double middle ear infections and developed a quinsy. Have had it all drained and Iv antiobics for 24 hrs as well as steroids and 2 nights in the hospital. I'm due to fly from Australia to San Fransisco in 4 days, will this be safe? I will be sent home with oral antiobics, but is there anything else I can do to prevent relapses?
Thanks.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

As a physician I would like to tell you that in order to prevent recurring tonsillitis, you should follow some of the basic things like living healthy, avoiding contact with patients, do lukewarm saltwater or Betadine gargles, avoid cold food and ice creams.

Hope this will help you. Feel free to ask any further question. Have a nice day.

Regards,
Dr. Abhijeet
