How Can Tumor In The Pancreas Be Removed?

My son is in the hospital and has been diagnosed with a tumor on his pancreas. Doctors are recommending surgically removing it, but my son is concerned about the possibility of problems with the stents. Can you let me know the possible risks? Thank you. YYYY@YYYY

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I understand your concern. Since you have not furnished the details of the report pertaining to the tumor present in the pancreas, it is difficult to advise on specific issues.

However, since the doctors have reviewed and advised for surgery, such tumors needs to be operated and removed surgically.

The tissue would be sent for histopathological examination, which will tell about what type of tumor it could be.

Further course of treatment would depend on the histopathology report.

Kindly follow the advise as given by your doctors and do the necessary follow-up.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashakiran S, General & Family Physician
