Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is colon resection the only way or just the most used way to remove large growths in the colon? The biopsy during colonscopy was negative for cancer. Two growths of 5 cm and 6 cm. Dr says they must come out and part of colon removed with coloscopy bag inserted for a few months.
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Ig these growths are malignant then surgical resection is the only option since this is th eonly way to remove tumor completely and avoid metastasing and complications so you should not risk with these issue definitely. This is serious disease and colostomy bag can be reversed later when your condition stabilizes. If this is so sized then there is no way to remove it colonoscopically unfortunately. Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
Wishing you good health.
