General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
13 weeks pregnancy cannot be aborted legally by d&c surgery. In case you want to get rid of it by medicines only. You can go for extra amniotic Emcridil instillation in the uterus.
Which would bring about labour pains followed by assisted an abortion (by Pitocin drip) in an out 48 hours of Emcridil instillation.
Sometimes when abortion is not complete. A vaginal surgery (curettage) may be needed to complete the procedure.
This has to be undertaken in government recognised hospital by a recognised gynaecologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
