Hi, I believe I have a prolasped uterus. Is this an urgent situation or one that can wait until Monday when my dr is in the office? I was showering this afternoon and found a bulge which seems to be just inside of my vagina. I go to the gym on a regular basis and is this something I should avoid until being seen?
Hello madam, I have gone through your query and i can understand your concerns. prolapsed uterus is common in elderly females. It is not a serious condition and highly effective treatment options are available. You have to consult your gynecologist and he might explain the treatment options, try to go with surgical ones as conservative management always associated with recurrence. As of now avoid straining.Anything which increase your intra abdominal pressure should be avoided. Its better to avoid gym training for few days, even if you go to gym avoid work out for your abs.treating constipation and cough.Excessive straining and cough increase the abdominal pressure and worsen the prolapse. You can also use a "pessary" to control the bulge.A trained help you to insert a pessary. Hope this helps. Regards. Dr.Shinas Hussain
