Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My sister has level 3 precancerous cells of the vagina. She has surgery to remove the area of precancerous cells. After surgery they told her they did not get all the margins and cannot do additional surgery as the margins are too close to the anus. What will be her treatment options moving forward to prevent cancer?
Two options are there, first surgical removal of rectal extension and have an external anal opening in front of the abdomen or start chemotherapy to prevent further progression.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Hiren Hirpara
