Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i was swabbed during an routine annual and for something I found, one doc says its a vaginal polyp and all STD testing came back negative, it looks as if there were more so I went to an OB and instantly she says condyloma? how can hpv testing come back negative and me have condyloma? is there anything that may resemble a wart or skin tag, and I believe I may have a yeast infection due to recent antibiotics
Condyloma is basically an epidermal manifestation of HPV. Since your reports are negative for HPV, it shouldn't be Condyloma. Hope you do not indulge with multiple partners in your sexual life.
Cervical polyps have symptoms like discharge, bleeding between periods, heavy menstruation or bleeding after intercourse. Some polyps go off by themselves but it depends whether they are ecto or endo cervical in nature, so get examined & evaluated. The treatment is minor surgery when the polyp is pulled out by a polyp forcep followed by a short course of medication.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K,
