Hi good day is it possible to stop my period at the first sign of it? Well the thing is I recently did an abortion about a month now where I was bleeding for almost 5 weeks the last two weeks was on and off in the last week however I took minigynon to stop the bleeding. Now after 2 weeks I notice a little spotting slightly brownish at one point then pinkish. If this my periods returning however is there any way to stop it?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I think you can take some hormones like progesterone in high dose to stop the bleeding. Consult a gynecologist for the proper prescription. It will stop your bleeding but you need to continue the tablets at a lower dose to avoid getting periods till the time you don’t want periods.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Khushboo Priya
