Hi,
Vertigo can be very disturbing. In my clinic before treating vertigo we should analyse the root cause of it. The source of vertigo can be from your
vestibular system in the ear, sometimes it's from the
central nervous system too. We have to treat the cause to eliminate it. We should know whether it is positional or not. I will suggest you try the following things:
1) Try using
Betahistine it will temporarily relieve the symptoms.
2) If the problem is with your ear canals, you may need a maneuver called as Epley's maneuver which will be done in an Otolaryngologist office.
3) Some vertigo may need vestibular
rehabilitation therapy, which involves a series of therapy by a qualified person to stabilize your vestibular system.
4) Avoid excessive salt intake.
5) Avoid smoking.
6) Make sure you don't have any
cervical pain as sometimes it may cause vertigo too.
If still persist consider getting an appointment with an Otolaryngologist for further evaluation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Moses John Wesley,
