How Can Viral Fever And Cough In A Child Be Treated?

My daughter is 13kg and 4 years old. She got viral for 2 days and I have her meftalgesic. But fever came again after 24 hrs and she also started coughing alot (dry cough) . Giving her crocin ds 3ml whenever there is fever. But now her nose also started running and this cough and cold is increasing. Please suggest

Hello,

She may be developed viral rhinitis with pharyngitis with probable pneumonia. She may need water vapor inhalation and paracetamol every six hourly. Need antibiotics like amoxicillin clavulanate twice a day for five days. Use an antihistamine like Chlorphenamine maleate twice a day for five days. If symptoms not improved, please consult your doctor he will examine and treat her accordingly.
