How Can Viral Infection And Oral Thrush In An Infant Be Treated?
hi ..my 7th month baby has periodic viral infection every 15 days its happen 3rd time...he devloped black tounge, dry cough n white vitiligo like patches on leg, fever is up to 100.2 today.do he need any iron drop or multi vit for immunity booster,my pedia says no but i feel he need.plz suggest hw to increase immunity in child n prevent from viral inf.he was exclusivly on breast feed til 6 month.
Thanks for query.Oral thrush in infant seems to be due to fungal infection which remains persistent and leading to formation of thick white layer in oral cavity and its surfaces. It could be due to poor oral hygiene and immuno- compromised state of body. I would suggest you to give Probiotics like Yoghurt in diet and Amphotericin B and maintain complete oral hygiene. You should visit oral pathologist once if symptoms keeps on persisting and start treatment after prescription. Go for biopsy of lesions if symptoms keeps on persisting. Avoid sharp, hot and spicy foods. You should swish with nystatin suspensions. For viral infection take proper course of medications such as Azithromycin along with Ibuprofen. apply cold compresses on legs. Best Wishes, Harry Maheshwari
