I am a 56 year old male with type 2 diabetes. 3 years ago I was hospitalized with stroke like symptoms. Never determine cause, however, I was severely lacking B-12, Magnesium and vitamin D. I have been on vitamin therapy since as my body does not absorb to produce vitamins. I additional had 10 inches of my colon removed 5 years ago due to diverticulitis. Fast forward. today my NP informs me my levels are very low normal on all three vitamin levels. Will it make a difference on the way I physically feel if I were at a high normal count? I find myself constantly tired
Vitamin B12 is the vitamin which is responsible for the production of RBC which in turn responsible for blood oxygen-carrying capacity. Thus if vitamin b12 is less, then it can cause lethargy and fatigue while vitamin d is responsible for calcium deposition in bones, so its deficiency causes bony pains. Thus if your levels are low, then you might experience these symptoms which can get treated by taking their supplementation. Yes, definitely you would have felt much better if your count would have been high.
