How Can Vitamin D Deficiency Along With Elevated Cholesterol Levels Be Treated?

Got a call from my provider today, that I have low vitamin D, high thyroid, and high cholesterol! This has been reoccurring over the last 2 years! Also in the past was said to have lowered kidney function. Some tests have been ran, but I have never been given any conclusive answer or diagnosis. I ll add that I have night sweats from the waist down and sleep very little. Just needing more answers as to what is going on in my body and thought I would start here since its been 2 years and nothing has changed. thank-you

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Vitamin D is activated in kidney so if you are having kidney problem solve it first because that also lead to electrolyte disturbance which can cause so many problems.for high cholesterol statins can be used and for hyperthyroid antithyroid drugs can be used like PTU.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
