Hi,

As per your complain Vitiligo is a skin condition in which there is a loss of pigmentation in patches in different areas of the body thereby forming white patches on the skin.

It occurs due to damage to the melanocytes in certain areas of the body which are pigment-producing cells producing Melanin and provides colour to the skin.

As you said you have a few small patches it shows that it is in its initial stage and immediate treatment can help in preventing progression and can also help in faster resolution.

Consult a Dermatologist and get evaluated and he can do a thorough clinical evaluation and also advise investigations like biopsy from the depigmented areas.

You can be advised to apply steroid ointments over the depigmented areas of skin. It should be done for not more than 2 months and that too under the supervision of the dermatologist as steroids can cause certain side effects.

You can also be advised spot Oxsoralen therapy. In the case of small areas, skin grafting can also be advised if other mechanisms do not help.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
