Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
About three months ago i felt pressure on my chest and a lot of coughing. After a month i was diagnosed with bronchitis....it improved but never went away. Last two weeks it got increasingly worse and last week i was diagnosed with walking pneumonia. It s not getting any better after 5 days of prednisone and augmentin
Walking pneumonia is a lung infection that is generally caused by atypical bacteria that generally do not respond well to augmentin. In these cases it is generally azythromycine or levofloxacine that are used and in few cases doxcycyclin.
You might need to have another visit with your doctor and discuss the option treatments for walking pneumonia and consider taking one of the drugs mentioned above.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General & Family Physician
