How Can Weight Gain And Hair Loss Due To Thyronorm Be Reduced?
Hi! I m 30 yrs old n detected with hypothyroidism just 3 months back.my t3 t4 was normal but tsh read 9.4.after taking 50mcg of thyronorm for 2 months, now when I got my tests done, the tsh has come down to 0.12.My doc advised me to continue with 50mcg bt for 6 days a week and also prescribed becadexamin and fludac.The problem is that I am gaining weight and losing hair at an alarming rate. Gained 3.5 kgs in past 2 months and about 10 kgs in a yr.i try and control my diet always n exercise, bt in vain.also developed dermatitis and some pigmentation on skin.i also have a high parathyroid hormone level.taking shelcal and bon dk for it.Please suggest if there is smthing more I can do n whether my medication is fine n if this shall help me to reduce my weight n other health problems?

Since it was diagnosed recently, I suggest you give it some more time for the hair cycle to be restored to normal. Continue diet and exercise under guidance. In addition to above mentioned medications, you could benefit from taking oral supplements containing biotin, cysteine and methionine for 3-6 months.
