Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a yeast infection and I feel like it s getting worse. At first I didn t have clumps, just itching. I ve been taking 7 day cream that I started on Tuesday. I m now getting white clumps and the itching is getting worse. What caused it was that I was taking antibiotics (it starts with an m) 3 times a day for 10 days. I stopped taking them like 3 days ago because of my yeast infection. What should I do?
Welcome to HCM -There are some factors that can flare up yeast infection ,one of them prolonged use of antibiotics. -For your problem: with vaginal cream use pessaries which you insert into the vagina such as clotrimazole. if you are not prefer pessery can use Fluconazole, which is taken as a single dose but Do not take these treatments if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. To avoid recurrence: -Wear loose-fitting cotton underwear. -Only use antibiotics when necessary. -Avoid vaginal deodorant sprays and vaginal lotions -Eat yogurt . help restore the bacteria-yeast balance throughout your body. Best Regards
