How Can Yeast Infection On The Skin Be Treated?

what can you use for a yeast infection that is under, what you call an apron, (from fat overlap on the lower stomach). It is out of control and is painful. Its the holiday and no doctor open for a couple of days. I have the following cremes, can I use any of these on it. Some areas are bleeding, Fluocinonide, Triamicinolon, Mupirocin,, Desonide or Ketoconazole.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The fungal infection of the skin under fat fold of lower abdomen can be controlled by Ketoconazole cream applied several times to the skin.

The skin fold must be kept sweat free by frequent washing and drying followed by application of ointment avoiding excess cream (as this, in turn, would cause more sweating thus creating hot and damp skin more favorable to yeast growth).

Using loose fitting thin cotton clothes and avoiding layers of clothes, one over the other, would facilitate healing.

Local examination by your doctor would decide final diagnosis and line of treatment. He may add oral medication as per the need.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale
