How Common Is It To Develop Seroma After Undergoing Bilateral Salpingo Oophorectomy?
I had a robotic bilateral salpingo oophorectomy. Three weeks later was diagnosed with a seroma in the port incision which was surgical excised. Three weeks after that was diagnosed with another seroma twice the size of the first in the same areas and that was surgically removed and a JP drain was left in for 4 week. Now almost three weeks after removal of of the JP drain I have a hard pain bulge in the same area. Awaiting a CT scan how common is this? What is the permanent resolution.
It is not a very common problem after any surgery but ever since its recurring despite of repeat drainage, in my opinion you need to undergo a thorough examination of the wound as I think some lymphatic vessel has got damaged and has found its tract into the wound. Visit your surgeon at the earliest possible appointment. All the best.
