I went to the health department today because I have a foul order and itching (down there) they did a pap and said I have trich. I don t think for second my husband has been unfaithful but they said my husband must have cheated on me if I have it. Now I was unfaithful two years ago and we worked it out and I went to the health dep then and got checked per my husbands request and I had nothing except for Bv and I have had problems with bv since I gave birth in 2012. So my question is could I have contracted the trich back in 2013 when I was unfaithful and it didn t show up ? Or is there some other way of getting it ? Or are they right by saying my husband has to have cheated on me ?
Hi, Welcome to HCM. Trichomonas is an infection which can be treated very easily. Of course both the partners have to be treated simultaneously. Infection could likely be present since 2013 if it is left untreated. Rare possibility of a non venereal transmission through toilet seats and sharing a wet towel is there. So instead of analyzing the faithfulness of the partner getting treated is easier. Dr S.Murugan
