Can trichomoniasis occur naturally in woman i had sharp pains in my tummy went to er was told i had trichomoniasis but my husband does not have it nor have i been with anyone else and i had no other symptoms just sharp pains in my tummy.

actually trichomoniasis should be confirmed by lab tests not just a sharp pain in stomach.but if docs there have proven trichomoniasis your answer is no.the prevealnce of this disease is equal in women and men and 50-70% asymptomatic in women and 80% asymptomatic in men.this means it is not necessary to be seen in your partner also.but your partner should be treated as you are.as you see it is sometimes asymptomatic but should be treated.

ok but my husband was tested and the dr did not say for sure if it was trichinosis or trichomoniasis and they are 2 separat things

i know about them being 2 different things.but your question was about trichomoniasis.about trichinosis or trichinellosis abdominal pain is a sign in the first phase but as disease progress(invading the muscles) it manifest with sever sign and symptoms.but like trichomoniasis lab tests should confirm the diagnosis and once confirmed the drug of choice is mebendazole 200-400 mg three times a day for 3 days then 400-500 mg three times a day for 10 days.metronidazole is used also but is not the drug of choice as the first line treatment.
