Hi,I am Dr. Carol Rogala (Emergency Medicine). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Do You Know If You Are Having Heart Problems ?
A couple weeks ago I had a few symptoms of a heart attack, including chest pain, numbness in my left arm, no pulse, then heart rate so rapid I thought my heart was going to beat out of my chest, shallow breathing, and inability to stand on my own two feet. Everything went away after about 20 minutes except for my arm which stayed numb for several hours. Ever since this incident I have been experiencing a rapid heart rate, sometimes even irregular, and extreme lightheadedness.
Please let me know what you think
Michael how old are you?Get your arse into an emergency department tonight,do not wait and make an appointment to see your family Dr. I've read in so many answers the symptoms of a myocardial infarct, (MI) but 1 symptom that is not documented is denial. Yes it sounds like you have had a heart attack and you are experiencing some sort of an arrhythmia. Every time your heart beats rapidly you are increasing the oxygen demands of your heart and possible causing the size of your MI to increase, and increasing the risk of you developing congestive heart failure. Go to emergency tonight for an assessment because if you don't go willingly you might just end up in the morgue. Everyone has answered you out of concern so why are you reading my answer,go to emergency before you have a second MI. Take care of yourself,Donna
