How Do You Treat A Reddish Lesion That Looks Like A Pilonidal Cyst At Home?
Doctor said it’s hard to diagnose a Pilonidel cyst. Gave me keflex but it’s still there...red, small sore, draining a little. My question is, can you have a lesion like this and it not be a pilonidel cyst? And do I keep it dry or use the teatree oil I have (diluted with caster oil) and/or hot compresses? No baths for me....hate them. Thank you!!
Consult a general surgeon and get evaluated.
As a first line management you can apply topical antibiotics like Mupirocin and if symptoms persist you can go for surgical excision.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
