How Does Melgain Lotion Work On Melanocytes And Restores Melanin Production?
Hi, Recently DRL launched Melgain Lotion as topical treatment for Vitiligo patches claimimg success rate of 80 - 90 %. But right from 2004 this was available in mkt manufactured and supplied by Issar pharma & hence not totally new drug. Kindly provide following info. 1. Contents of Melgain? 2. Side effects on prolonged use 3. How the drug works on melanocytes and restores melanin production?
Melgain Lotion is composed of Decapeptide - Basic Fibroblast Growth Factor and is used for the re-pigmentation of the skin... Melgain Lotion is generally very well tolerated with no known major side effects though allergic reaction can occur rarely... The active ingredient in this topical lotion i.e. bFGF can help to replenish the dysfunctional melanocytes in the affected areas of skin by causing healthy melanocytes from adjacent normal skin to move into the white skin patch and also accelerates their growth... Usually applied once per day as a thin layer of it, directly onto the whitened skin... Hope this would help...thanks
