Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I am 7 weeks pregnant and my doctor has prescribed me myfol and i am not sure if i should have ot or not because in my my previous pregnancy i was taking folic acid tablets and fefol and cal .. this time i have asked to take these tablets myfol, ascard tablet i dont understand the purpose of this tablet at all and sangobilion and cal 1000 plus .. please advise ?
The use of folic acid is recommended in the first few months of pregnancy at least, as it decreases the chance of certain birth defects in children. Myfol is therefore advised. Its nothing new, its also folic acid but a different form
Regarding the calcium and iron tablets, they may not be needed, but as their requirement, an increase in pregnancy, so we advise it for the better health of the mother.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman, General & Family Physician
